Canada Day Celebrations!
July 1st from 10-5
Join us Wednesday, July 1, 2015 as we celebrate Canada Day at the Mini Aquarium! Special events throughout the day, including a Color Your Cup station - an awesome volunteer is going on a research cruise, and we're sending some styrofoam cups along to go 1500m deep! Come decorate a cup, leave it in our capable hands and once the cruise returns so will your cup - at about 1/5 it's original size!
Can't make it to Petty Harbour on Canada Day? We will also have a touch tank and a Colour Your Cup station at the Canada Day celebrations happening at the Holyrood Festival Grounds from 12-3 Come say hello!
Get your hands wet
Come to the Petty Harbour Mini Aquarium picturesque Petty Harbour Newfoundland to touch and feel all the amazing creatures that live just below the surface. Perfect for the young and young at heart - not even squidding!
Fostering curiosity of marine life
Get a personal hands-on learning experience with passionate staff. Touch tanks and thirty beautiful exhibits show off the creatures in an 800-square foot facility within a retired fish processing plant. The modest building will come to life with the amazing creatures we display and the stories they tell of sustainability and coastal culture.
Catch and Release
The best part about the Mini Aquarium is that we release the animals back to the ocean where they were collected from. Watch last year's release. Participate in this year's!
The mission of the Petty Harbour Mini Aquarium is to foster curiosity about local marine life and inspire action toward personal and global sustainability through display, interpretation and direct action.
